What do we mean when we talk about your Teeter’s ankle locking system?
The ankle locking mechanism is the feature that locks and secures your feet/ankles prior to inverting. It is a simple yet vital part – this is what holds you in! In fact, the ankle lock is one of the main components evaluated by UL’s inversion table safety spec (UL 1647). We wouldn’t want to hang upside down from an inversion table ankle system that hasn’t been held accountable to a 3rd party safety certification – would you? Currently, Teeter is the only brand of inversion table listed to UL 1647.
Are there different types of ankle lock systems?
Teeter offers 3 different types of locking mechanisms on our manual inversion tables.
T-Pin Ankle Lock System
Offered on many models, including the wildly popular EP-560 Ltd. This spring-loaded pin features an ergonomic grip for comfortable release, yet snaps in place securely when you push down on the front foam rollers to lock your ankles in place.
When the pin fully engages, you can hear an audible ‘click’. If it does not engage, you will still see part of the orange circle. Adjust the front foam rollers until you hear the click of the pin snapping into place and you can no longer see the orange. The T-Pin does require users to have to bend over a little further to secure their ankles, but is a comfortable option for many people.
The EZ-Reach Ankle System is offered on select models, including the EP-960 Ltd.
Our Ratchet requires less of a reach than the T-Pin, so it is an ideal option for those with have trouble or experience discomfort while bending over. Instead of pulling up as you would on the T-Pin, simply push down on the long handle, slide closed and release to secure your ankles.
Deluxe EZ-Reach-Ankle System
The deluxe option is offered on select models, including the EP-970 Ltd.
This ratchet is even longer than the EZ-Reach System! The extra-long, smooth ratcheting handle that reduces bend and strain when securing the ankle supports. Unlocking this deluxe option is easy. Simply push down on the blue button on top of the ratchet then pull towards you to unlock.
